Bolder Star Lodges set on cliff edge | Design-led off-grid lodges by Snøhetta , Norway
Norwegian architects Snøhetta have teamed up with local entrepreneur Tom Bjarte Norland to design the Bolder Star Lodges, four off-grid cabins that give guests a front row view of Norway’s spectacular Lysefjorden.
Built to blend into the landscape, the four one-room cabins, named Stylten, Myra, Stjerna, and Eldhuset, are built from untreated red cedar wood and elevated on large concrete pillars to reduce their impact on the site.
Vision
Among 170 hectares of untouched land with unspoiled view – The Bolder Lodges hovers high above the Lysefjord, one of Norway's most spectacular fjords. A place where people from all over the world want to experience and engage in its picturesque beauty. These mountains are filled with magical pine trees and boulders placed by the glacier when the ice age came to an end. This nature plot deserved something daring and unique.
Lodges
Designed to be a sanctuary immersed in nature – the lodges are built to minimize the footprint on the landscape. The StarLodges are designed by the internationally renowned architectural studio, Snøhetta.
